Bihar Lok Sabha Elections Live Updates

Bihar Lok Sabha Elections are scheduled to take place in seven phases across the state. The elections will begin from 11th of April and then continue till 19th of May. The counting will take place on 23rd of May. Bihar has a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats out of which NDA holds 31, UPA holds 7, and JDU (Janatha Dal United) holds 2.

The NDA is a coalition of Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP), Lok Janshakthi Party (LJP), and Rasthriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP). UPA is a coalition of Rashtriya Janatha Dal (RJD), Indian National Congress (INC), and Nationalist Congress Party. Out of the 31 seats that NDA bears, BJP has 22, LJP has 6 and RLSP has 3. UPA coalition comprises of 4 seats from RJD, 2 seats from INC, and 1 seat from NCP.

The first phase involves Elections in Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, districts. Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Banka districts come under second phase. Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Khagaria, districts have their elections in third phase. Districts like Darbhanga, Ujairpur, Samastipur, Begusarai, Munger, will be covered in 4th phase, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Hajipur, in 5th, Valmiki Nagar, Paschim, Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan, and Maharajganj in 6th phase and Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram, Kurakat, and Jahanabad, will be covered in 7th Phase.
