Ashish and Madhav along with their friends leave for Devdhar in an attempt to prove an age old myth to be false. Ashish is murdered before he could do so and Madhav claims that Lord Shiva was responsible and used a trident as the weapon. The priests are convinced that someone is trying to tarnish the deity's name. The trident is recovered from the site of the crime and a Mahant confesses for his crime. KD believes that the Mahant is just a scape goat and tries to find the person responsible.
