Accompanied by Violin : R K Shriramkumar Mridangam: N C Bharadwaj *Sarasvatya Bhagavatya* Sarasvatya Bhagavatya, set in the rare raga Chayagau?a, resonates with the spirit of a well-known sloka : sa?gitam api sahitya? sarasvatya? stanadvayam | ekam apana-madhura? anyad alocanam?tam || Sarasvati nourishes us with the twin streams of music and literature, likened to her two breasts—music that can be directly savored, and literature, which reveals its nectar through contemplation. In this composition, Dik?itar seeks refuge in the Supreme Goddess Sarasvati, matchless in her glory—the resplendent one of brilliant white radiance (chaya-gaura-taraya),the one who dwells upon the very tip of the tongues of the wise, and the one adorned in garments of pure white.
