Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections Live Updates

Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections are scheduled from April 11th, 2019 to May 19th in 7 phases. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of Lok Sabha states than any other in India. It is one of the largest states in India and holds 80 Lok Sabha seats, of which Bharatiya Janata Party possesses 71 seats Samajwadi Party (SP) possesses 5, Indian National Congress (INC) won 2 and Apna Dal won 2.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC) and Samajwadi Party (SP) are the largest parties in Uttar Pradesh. BJP had formed an alliance with Apna Dal and the parties SP-BSP-RLD formed an alliance to fight against BJP. Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party hold a significant percentage of vote share and with their alliance, the chances of BJP gaining a majority are slim. Congress which is now trying to revive itself and be ready for the 2022 elections, was left out of this alliance.

The first phase elections are scheduled on 11th of April in Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam, and Buddha Nagar districts. The second phase is scheduled on April 18th in Nagina, Amroha, Bulandshar, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura, Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. The third phase is scheduled on April 23rd in Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Aonla, Bareilly, and Pilibhit.

The fourth phase planned on April 29th is planned in Shahjahanpur, Kheri, Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, and Hamirpur. The fifth phase scheduled on May 6th in districts like Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Amethi, Faizabad, etc. The sixth and seventh phases are scheduled on May 12th and May 19th respectively and include districts like Sultanpur, Allahabad, Lalganj, Pratapgarh, etc., and Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, etc. respectively.
